To maintain a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment for reading, learning, and research, all library users are expected to follow the General Rules and Regulations. Any conduct that disrupts library operations, staff, or fellow users is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply may result in the immediate suspension of library privileges.
Access & Membership
- University/Campus ID Card is required to access the library. Students must present avalid campus ID.
- Library registration is mandatory to use library resources and borrow materials.
Borrowing Rules
- Books must be borrowed in your own name and cannot be passed to others.
- All borrowed items must be returned to the library and officially re-issued if needed.
- Handle library materials carefully. Any damage caused by misuse (highlighting, writing, tearing, or marking) will be the borrower’s responsibility
Library Conduct
- Maintain complete silence at all times. No discussions or group work are permitted inside the library.
- Personal belongings are not allowed inside.
- Show all books and materials at the entrance counter when leaving.
- Food, water, and beverages are strictly prohibited.
Use of Dissertations & Copyright
- Copying or photographing dissertations must comply with Sri Lankan copyright law.Overdue & Lost Materials
Overdue & Lost Materials
- Overdue charges:
- Lending books: Rs. 5/day
- Reference books: Rs. 10/day
- DVDs: Rs. 10/day
- Lost books must be reported immediately. Borrowers must either replace the book (same or latest edition) or pay the cost plus any applicable charges.
Library Cards
- Report lost library cards in writing.
- Duplicate cards will be issued after two weeks. Fee: Rs. 10.
No Dues Certificate
- Students must obtain a No Dues Certificate after completing their final year, returning all books, surrendering library cards, and paying any outstanding fines.
