About Campus

The Western Campus of the University of Colombo was established by a notification of the Sri Lanka government Gazette (Extraordinary) No 928/1 dated 20th June 1996. Its name was subsequently amended as Sri Palee Campus of the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka with effect from 11.09.1998 by an order made by the Hon. Minister of Education and Higher Education under 27(1) of the Universities Act No-16 of 1978.

285th CVCD meeting will be held on 06th and 07th of may 2016 at Sri Palee Campus.University of Colombo, Horana.

New vice chancellor visited Sri Palee Campus

The newly appointed vice chancellor, Prof. Lakshman Dissanayake visited Sri Palee Campus on the 28th of August 2015 and discussed about the future planes of the campus.

Workshop on "Gender and Media"

A Workshop on "Gender and Media" was held on the 22nd of September 2015 in Sri Palee Campus premises as a part of the series of workshops on the theme of “Women Sexual and Reproductive Health: Getting the stories Right”. This was organized by Sri Palee campus with partnership of Radio Netherland Training Center (RNTC).

Campus radio

The Campus radio station is owned or controlled by a non-profit organization associated with the University. The Campus community Radio station is experimenting the integration with web-based forms of radio broadcasting, podcasting and FM broadcasting. The Campus station is programming produced primarily by volunteers who are either students or members of the community at large.
