THEME: ” Artistic and Media Values for National Development in Digital Contexts”

The Editorial Committee of the International Research Symposium of the Sri Palee Campus, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka invites academics and researchers to submit their abstracts with full papers to be considered for the presentation online at the technical sessions of the International Research Symposium (IRS) of Sri Palee Campus of the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka on the 19th February 2021. The suggested themes of abstracts include, but are not limited to:
• Creative industries during the Covid-19 pandemic
• Trends of media communication during the Covid-19 pandemic
• Virtual culture and humanity
• Creative and media industries in post-globalisation
• Philosophy of art and media
• Media and art values in pre-modern/modern/post-modern contexts
• Media and art in archaeo-modernism
• Consumerism and advertising in digital contexts
• Art and media education in digital contexts
• Art, media, and post-anthropology

Indexing or supporting system

  1. All accepted abstracts will be published in the Proceedings Book of the International Research Symposium (IRS), Sri Palee Campus, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka
  2. The printed proceedings will be published with ISSN numbers
  3. Selected papers will be published in the International Journal of Communicology, the international journal published by the Sri Palee Campus of University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, after a peer Review process and assessment
Submission of the abstracts: 20th December 2020
Notification of the abstract acceptance: 11th January 2021
Final submission with full paper: 20th January 2021
Early Bird Registration Date 25th January 2021
Late Registration Date 10th February 2021

To be considered for evaluation, each submission should include the following documents;

  1. Abstract – not exceeding 300 words
  2. Full Paper (inclusive of background, objectives, research design/materials and methods, results/ findings, conclusions) – approximately 2500-3000 words (excluding referencing)

The author’s declaration form, guidelines for preparation of abstracts, and full papers are attached herewith. Please follow the instructions carefully. Kindly note that abstracts/full papers that are not prepared according to the guidelines provided, or are submitted after the deadline, will not be considered for review. The Editorial Committee reserves the right to suggest alterations to the text of the abstract in order to improve its quality.
